A fun new trend for parties this season is replacing the standard gingerbread house with a “Charcuterie Chalet”. Building this adorable appetizer requires some engineering know-how, but is a fun holiday twist on the standard platters we usually see. The sky is the limit for your ingredients and the style of structure. Cheese, meat, crackers, vegetable, fruit, crackers, and popcorn are all great building materials to use.
Please remember that food safety guidelines still apply. Cute though it may be, charcuterie is still perishable and is not considered safe to eat if stored at room temperature for 4 hours or longer. So, be sure to enjoy your creation within that time frame, or return it to the refrigerator!
